Marjorie runs this home herself.

Marjorie Ocon owns A WellCared and provides the care herself, alongside her team of seven. She is in the home, she is involved in the day to day, and she is the person your family will deal with directly. In her own words:

Our licensed adult family home in Algona provides personalized, compassionate care for up to six residents, which allows us to give each individual the attention they deserve.

As the owner and provider, I am personally involved in the day to day care, making sure every resident is safe, comfortable, happy, and receiving the highest quality of care. My staff and I treat every resident with the same love, dignity, and respect we would give our own loved ones.

We are strong advocates for our residents, always putting their needs, preferences, and well being first. Our goal is to give families peace of mind, knowing their loved one is cared for with compassion, integrity, and genuine love in a warm, family centered home.

Personal care and daily living

Gentle, dignified help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and the rhythms of every day, the way each resident prefers. Help with walking, transfers, and getting around safely, with a caregiver always close by.

Medications and health

Every dose given on time and tracked, with pharmacy refills handled for you. We coordinate appointments and keep in step with each resident's doctors, so nothing falls through.

Home-cooked meals

Real food made fresh every day, prepared around each resident's tastes, appetite, and dietary needs. Meals are shared at the table together.

A comfortable home

Rooms kept clean and laundry taken care of, so your loved one is always comfortable. Time together through the day as well, with conversation, activities, and the ordinary company of a household.

Family support and paying for care

Regular updates and an open door, so you always know how your loved one is doing, and we speak up for our residents whenever we need to. We accept private pay and Medicaid, and we are a contracted WA Cares provider, so if you have earned benefits you can use them here.

How is an adult family home different from assisted living?

An adult family home is a licensed private residence caring for a small number of people, six in our case, rather than a large facility with dozens of rooms. It means far more one on one attention, and it feels like a house, because it is one.

What areas do you serve?

We are in Algona, and we welcome families from Auburn, Pacific, Federal Way, Kent, and across South King County.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes. We welcome both private pay and Medicaid residents, so families have a real choice.

Do you accept WA Cares?

Yes. A WellCared is a contracted WA Cares provider, so if you have earned WA Cares benefits you can use them towards your care here. WA Cares is Washington State's long term care benefit. If you are not sure whether you qualify or how it works, call Marjorie and she will talk it through with you.

How many residents live here?

We are licensed for up to six. Keeping the home small is exactly what allows us to give each person the attention they deserve.

Who actually provides the care?

Marjorie, the owner, is personally involved in the day to day care, alongside our caregivers. Someone is here around the clock, day and night.

Can we come and see the home first?

Please do. Visits are welcome by appointment. Call us and we will find a time that works for your family.
