A small home where your loved one is known by name.

Choosing care for a loved one is one of the most important decisions a family can make. We keep this home small on purpose — licensed for six residents — so each person gets individual attention, familiar routines and steady support from people who know them.

We would rather say less here and show you more in person. This is a small home, and we would like it to be better than you were expecting when you walk in — not the other way around.

Marjorie Ocon owns A WellCared and provides the care herself, alongside her caregiving team. She is in the home, she is involved in the day to day, and she is the person your family will deal with directly — not a call center, not an admissions office.

“Our licensed adult family home in Algona provides personalized, compassionate care for up to six residents, which allows us to give each individual the attention they deserve.

As the owner and provider, I am personally involved in the day-to-day care, making sure every resident is safe, comfortable, happy, and receiving the highest quality of care. My staff and I treat every resident with the same love, dignity, and respect we would give our own loved ones.

We are strong advocates for our residents, always putting their needs, preferences, and well-being first. Our goal is to give families peace of mind, knowing their loved one is cared for with compassion, integrity, and genuine love in a warm, family-centered home.”

How is an adult family home different from assisted living?

An adult family home is a licensed private residence caring for a small number of residents. A WellCared is licensed for up to six, which is what allows a more intimate, home-like setting and far more one-to-one attention. It feels like a house, because it is one.

Do you specialize in dementia care?

Yes. A WellCared provides specialized residential care for older adults living with dementia and memory loss, with cognitive support built around what each person can still do. Our approach is built on familiar routines, consistent caregivers, compassionate communication, safety, and support shaped around the individual.

Do you care for residents with behavioral or mental health needs?

Yes. Our home has experience supporting residents with behavioral challenges and mental health needs, in a calm, structured environment built around each person's care plan. Before anyone moves in we talk through your loved one's needs with the family and decide together whether A WellCared is the right fit. Marjorie will be straight with you either way.

What happens before a resident moves in?

It starts with a conversation about your loved one — their care needs, medical and behavioral needs, daily routines, preferences and what matters to them. From there we work out whether our home and our services are the right fit, and only then do we talk about admission.

What areas do you serve?

We are in Algona, and we welcome families from Auburn, Pacific, Federal Way, Kent, and across South King County.

Do you accept Medicaid?

Yes. We accept eligible Medicaid residents as well as private-pay arrangements, so families have a real choice.

Do you accept WA Cares?

Yes. A WellCared is a contracted WA Cares provider, so if you have earned WA Cares benefits you can use them towards your care here. WA Cares is Washington State's long term care benefit. If you are not sure whether you qualify or how it works, call Marjorie and she will talk it through with you.

How many residents live here?

Up to six. Keeping the home small is exactly what allows individual attention and a familiar, family-style environment.

Who actually provides the care?

Marjorie Ocon, the owner and provider, is personally involved in the day-to-day running and care of the home, working alongside her experienced caregiving team. Someone is here around the clock, day and night.

Can we visit the home before making a decision?

Absolutely. Book a private visit, meet Marjorie and the team, and see the home for yourself. Choosing care is a personal decision and we want families to feel comfortable asking anything.
